P7 VE Day Celebration
On Thursday our school celebrated the 80th Anniversary of VE Day. The children came to school dressed in World War II era costumes and lots of activities were planned throughout the day to mark this occasion, to include a walk around our village.
On display we had a World War II display featuring war memorabilia such as photographs, letters, medals and uniforms. We were also involved in a garden project were each child planted some seeds that represented growth and renewal. At lunch time our canteen provided the children with a special VE Day dinner and we all sat outside and had a street party in the playground.
A big thank you to everyone who helped make the celebration a meaningful and educational experience for all the children.
