# Day 1 - Wild Atlantic Outdoor Adventure Centre, Tullagh Bay, Donegal

17th May 2023

What an exciting first day we had on our residential trip to The Wild Atlantic Adventure Centre, Tullagh Bay, Donegal.

The sun shone from this morning and we have had a wonderful day doing different activities.

When we arrived we were greeted by the lovely Catherine who made us feel very welcome.  We then left off our luggage in the rooms and had some lunch which was delicious burger and chips.

Our afternoon activities were crate building and driving skills (in a real tractor.)

At the crate building the children took it in turns to get harnessed up and try and build the highest tower of crates to stand on without toppling off.  Whilst they were building the tower of crates the other children had to work in a team to hold the person up in their harness.  Great job everyone!!

The driving skills was a firm favourite by everyone today. The children were driving a New Holland tractor around cones set out in the yard which tested their steering, braking and reversing skills. We had a few who were very close to the cones, stalled the tractor and even had some who drove over the cones!! Everyone though completed the course and did so with a sense of accomplishment and with smiles on their faces.

Afterwards everyone had dinner which was chicken curry and rice and everyone was well fed.

In the evening we all headed to the beach which was a 5 minute walk from the centre.  We had a sand art competition, played football, rolled down some sand dunes and even had a dip in the water (only up to our ankles.). When we came back to the centre we all changed into our pjs and Mr Todd entertained them by holding a quiz and they all had some supper before heading to bed.

Everyone is looking forward to Day 2 and all I can say is what a super bunch of children and what a joy they are to be with.
